Pyae Phyo's Story After completing my matriculation exam, my grandmother encouraged me to attend an IT university to improve my computer skills. I took an entrance exam and was accepted. In the first year, it was too difficult for me because I had zero knowledge of programming. Then, month by month, year by year, I realized that programming is fun like maths. Mathematics has been my favorite subject since I was young. I like to work out the problems and it makes me happy if I get the answer. I see the same aspects in programming. I like to write codes, I like seeing my codes developed on the website I am writing. I was satisfied with the results after coding. I like to solve the problems step by step. I like to find errors when I make mistakes. I think those mistakes make me more skillful or smarter. I might not express fully my interest in programming. But I do love it a lot!

🙋‍♀️ Pyae Phyo's Motivation

My motivation is driven by my desire to acquire new skills and expand my knowledge in the field of technology. Although I am a computer science student, I still cannot reach to my main career path because of financial issues. I have to work as a teacher but my dream, to be a skillful developer, never changes. I saw the post about SheCodes workshop, it was the light I saw in the dark. I believe this workshop will lead to my dream career. As an undergraduate student and a girl who has to stand on her feet alone, this is a very big chance to win. I want to try everything I can to be a web developer. Although I try to practice writing website (from frontendmentor.io), I cannot complete some parts and I do need help from a mentor. If I get the chance to attend SheCodes workshop, I will try my best of best to develop my skills and career. My dream is to be a skillful developer and I will work on it whatever it takes. I do appreciate SheCodes for giving chances to girls(women).

🤹‍♀️ Pyae Phyo's Hobbies

My hobbies are drawing, playing word games, and online games. I like to play word games and board games for fun. I can play board games the whole day if I have partners to play with.

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
