Quynh Anh's Story Knowing about code is when I was searching for my future career . While surfing on the Career pages, I came across a job called “Computer Science”, being curious about that cool name I tried to dig deeper in what that was, the more I searched the more CODE word appeared. “What is that word?”, I asked. Typing code on the google search bar, trillions of results showed up. A long complex image of a page of code was fascinating me so I signed up for some free class learning how to code. The more I learn the more I love how it work and being interested in coding. But when I asked a Computer science teacher in my high school about code, he surprisingly said: “ What?! You learn how to code?”, I said Yes I did. He was thinking a bit and said:” You know, this is not for girls, you can not catch up like boys do. I think you should find another subject to learn.”. A fire was ignited in my heart, the way how people look down on women are unacceptable. I determined that I would follow this till the end no matter what. I’ll fight for it. The love for coding and the fire of feminism will lead me to the right place.
Being curious about how things work around me, fascinated in solving problems lead me to code. A place where I am able to be myself the most and satisfied my curiosity. Being a woman in a male-world in Vietnam, I realize how important to be able to prove that women can do whatever men can, and nothing is impossible.
I love to listen to the old songs. Reading book is my biggest thing. Playing chess and solving rubik help me a lot when I am stress. And playing basketball is my passion.
