Rose's Story A friend told me about the She Codes Foundation this year and was interested as someone who was very desperate to acquire those skills. It has been my dream for ten years now to become the best at coding skills in the technological industry in Zimbabwe. Learning has always been my lifestyle. I like to challenge myself every day, and coding will not just do that but also open new opportunities for me as well as improve my students' lives.

🙋‍♀️ Rose's Motivation

My motivation comes from my job as a college teacher. Lack of coding skills has made me uncomfortable teaching coding-related subjects in my area of specialization. Moreover, learning how to code can increase my chances of having a better life for my family and open new opportunities and connections. I find self-fulfillment when impacting those coding skills on my students and the community at large.

🤹‍♀️ Rose's Hobbies

I like researching current trends in my area of expertise I also like cooking and playing netball

🎯

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
