Serati 's Story A close cousin of mine told me about coding and how it would be a good fit for me. I have always been interested in computers, programming and coding since age of 13 but did not have access to facilities or even knowledge. A few years later I got to learn what I could from watching videos on YouTube. I’ve always wanted to learn how to code especially after learning that people can make a living out of it. Waking up and doing something that I love everyday is my number 1 goal in life.

🙋‍♀️ Serati 's Motivation

Learning how to code with SheCodes will help me get a better life (financially) and help me learn coding from professionals. My plan is to freelance and get earn some money then start a foundation like place where I introduce young children to the world of programming, mathematics and science. A place where they are taught that math and science are fun and not as difficult as people make them seem to be.

🤹‍♀️ Serati 's Hobbies

I love learning about computers by watching videos and reading. Sometimes in look into small projects on YouTube eg how to make a tracking device etc

SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.

SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
