Vuyokazi's Story "My experience in digital marketing sparked my first interest in coding. I became aware of the enormous potential that technology and coding provided for expanding my influence while working in the exciting and fast-paced field of digital marketing. Observing how digital technologies revolutionized marketing methods piqued my interest in developing custom solutions to solve industry-specific problems in addition to leveraging already-existing tools. A deep understanding of technology is necessary to remain ahead of the continual evolution of digital marketing. My curiosity was piqued when I realized that learning to code would allow me to explore new avenues in data analysis, automation, and customisation. My idea involved using my knowledge of coding to create tools that would improve data-driven decision-making, expedite marketing procedures, and ultimately help campaigns succeed.

"My desire to study coding is a result of my innate love of creativity and problem-solving. Coding, in my opinion, is a strong tool that everyone can use to realize creative ideas. I am motivated by the possibility of bringing about positive change in a quickly changing digital environment, whether it is through innovating new applications, advancing technology, or coming up with answers to problems in the real world. In addition to pursuing my own goals, I'm excited to gain the information and abilities provided by the She Codes Foundation and become a member of a community that uses technology to promote positive change."

Vuyokazi's coding training

Vuyokazi has gained access to SheCodes Plus for at no cost. It’s a 4 month coding training that’ll take her from a beginner to a professional.

She'll learn popular technologies, from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.
