Wamuyu's Story I got introduced to coding in high school where I started participating in hackathons with very basic block-based coding to develop solutions geared toward solving SDG challenges in our communities. Learning how to code also provides opportunities for remote work which is an added advantage since it also allows one the flexibility to support your family as you earn. Ultimately, I would love to join the cybersecurity field as I am passionate about career opportunity that provide continuous learning experiences as this keeps me motivated to want to do more and contribute as much as I can to the field.

🙋‍♀️ Wamuyu's Motivation

I'm interested in learning coding with Shecode since I am enthusiastic about contributing to the STEM community in my country, Kenya where there is promising opportunity for growth especially when solving our critical gaps. It has been difficult getting a job given the saturated market niches already and I believe starting a career in tech can help me not only penetrate the job market better, but also establish a chance to be self-employed. This has been a dire need of mine since I would love to support my family in these growing hard times. SheCodes is among the few excellent foundations whose participants have great track records in getting hired by great tech companies and I believe it is a great place for any aspiring African tech enthusiast to learn and grow their network.
