Chiugo 's Story Through knowing some people who works on fiverr, upwork, freelancer, etc. in 2016 when I travelled to Lagos for a short visit, since that time I developed the interest to learn a digital skill so that I too could become computer savvy and versatile online. I was introduced to Front-end programming but it didn't take root in me because it was brief and inconsistent. Only HTML and CSS I had tried to learn. Working with a social media manager as a temporary assistant/secretary also made me to develop the interest to learn how to code. I was so interested to know more on how to creatively schedule posts. I left the job after some months to further my education. I was confused on which programming language to learn, I had no one to advise me on where to start from as a beginner so everything was done casually.

🙋‍♀️ Chiugo 's Motivation

Learning how to code with SheCodes will help me understand technology and improve my technical skills in order to have great earning potential. After going through the 60 minutes intro to coding I am highly motivated by the opportunity to create something innovative and get a sense of accomplishment from coding. I am also motivated by the desire to learn how to code with SheCodes in order to acquire an employable and valuable skills. With the knowledge of coding I could become innovative, creative, productive, proactive and active. Knowing how to code will help me overcome my financial challenges and the problem of joblessness. I would also be able to teach my younger sisters how to code or motivate and support them to learn coding. Also, with the support and recommendations I shall get from SheCodes while learning, I will continue to upgrade in my level of coding. that will help me overcome financial difficulties and also contribute meaningfully to my society. profitable and favourable to my generation as much as I could. I'm learning how to code to be more creative, productive, active, proactive and innovative because the world is now a global village and a digital generation.

Chiugo has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
