Valeriia's Story I became interested in coding 2 years ago, when the COVID-19 quarantine began, my programmer friend said that despite the situation in the world, he has a stable job and is very satisfied. I decided to get acquainted with this profession, but then it seemed to me that I would not be able to cope with the training on my own without education. And then I postponed this idea until better times.

🙋‍♀️ Valeriia's Motivation

The motivation for learning coding is the desire to learn a new profession that would allow you to work from anywhere in the world, this understanding came with the outbreak of war in my home country - Ukraine, which forced me and my family to leave my city of Kharkov and lose their jobs (I worked as a teacher Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Internal Affairs, Ph.D.). In addition, I have two children who motivate me to move forward.

🤹‍♀️ Valeriia's Hobbies

I love swimming, hiking, dancing and also baking cakes

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
