Mercy's Story After I took a short course on Computer Security, I realized that for me to protect the systems I have to learn how to create them. I do self teach myself python however i feel that this program will even boost my knowledge more. Coding keeps me on my toes as it is an outlet to creativity.

🙋‍♀️ Mercy's Motivation

Computers intrigue me and it fascinates me how to balance different system properties such as dependability, security, functionality, extensibility, adaptability, maintainability and of course performance. In the beginning, I think I was baffled by the sheer flexibility compared to electronics. In a sense in digital electronics, you build together functionality with function blocks and you do the same thing in a program. It is simpler in programming to realize functionality.

🤹‍♀️ Mercy's Hobbies

I volunteer, training youths in Ajira Digital Program in my constituency, A program by the ministry of ICT. I also do outreach programs with other sitting and aspiring leaders.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
