Alona's Story I was teaching English in IT companies and I was amazed by the job my students were doing. They were (and actually are) creating websites from scratch, adding their perspectives and ideas. I wanted to be a part of those wonderful, creative teams.

🙋‍♀️ Alona's Motivation

My primary motivation is to work in the industry I admire and to be able to create helpful content with the help of coding. The fact that IT industry is always developing and one has to be up to date every time is fascinating as for the person who likes to learn. I would also like to get a better paid job and to be able to provide for me and my son. If this opportunity gives me a chance to help my country, Ukraine, to get restored, it gives me even a bigger purpose.

🤹‍♀️ Alona's Hobbies

I like to read, study, play with my son. Usually for fun I visit theaters, exhibitions, parks. Sometimes I am keen on just walking quietly at the riverside or seashore and to admire the beauty.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
