Antheolene's Story It all started when I was a young girl with a dream of one day working at Google. This dream sounded absurd because where I come from the only career choices we had were teaching, law, nursing etc.. We had to choose careers that sounded stable and attainable to our parents and grandparents, so I went into studying teaching but because of bursary problems and being unable to pay for my own way, my studies are now put on hold. With applications like TikTok, I realized that there were so many other career paths and different ways to pivot without the burden of self-financing the dream. I have always been curious about how websites and apps are created while designing posters for friends and family members on Canva and that inspired me to start learning.

The world is rapidly changing, and I want to be a part of it! learning to code will not only show 15-year-old me that her dream of one day working at Google is tangible but learning how to code will also help me build new skills, create opportunities for myself but also turn my passion for technology into a career.

Antheolene's coding training

Antheolene has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
