Anuoluwapo's Story I first became interested in coding when I realised that codes are developed for every application used by humans and JCI internship gave me a firsthand experience of the relationship between human minds and their reality

🙋‍♀️ Anuoluwapo's Motivation

Covid-19 motivated me to learn code, during this period, my work activities were suspended due to restrictions and laws by the state to stay safe. I knew I wanted to be more, I wanted to do more and I wanted to make an impact in my community, The reality that I could be cut out of the world staying idle did not sit well, with me and I began a search for knowledge outside my field, I wondered what I could integrate to my life that will cause the change I require to make my world better, so I spoke to my friend and he introduced me to JCI one month internship and that’s where the story began. During my internship, I got to see a lot of things that could be done with lines of codes which caught my interest, then I started my journey by learning HTML and CSS, and I built a website with it, and seeing how I could integrate codes into my real life experience made me decide to make it my career path.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
