Ashley's Story I first became interested in coding when I was exploring different career paths. I wanted to find something new and exciting that offered growth and creativity. I started learning by watching free tutorials on YouTube, which sparked my curiosity and showed me how coding can solve real-world problems. From there, I realized that coding is a powerful skill that can open many doors, and I became motivated to pursue it more seriously through structured programs like SheCodes

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to facilitate a meaningful career change. I want to transition into the tech industry, specifically into roles that involve programming and software development. Coding skills will open new opportunities for me, allowing me to work in a fast-growing, innovative field with ample career growth. I am eager to acquire practical, hands-on experience through SheCodes so I can confidently build projects and contribute to tech teams. Ultimately, this will enable me to create a sustainable and fulfilling career that aligns with my passion for technology and continuous learning.

In my free time, I enjoy quiet moments at home writing in my journal—it helps me reflect, stay grounded, and express myself creatively. I also love spending time at church, whether it's attending services or simply being in that peaceful environment. Going for walks is another favorite activity; it clears my mind and gives me a chance to appreciate nature. And of course, I find joy in cooking—it’s a fun way to relax and take care of myself and others

Ashley's coding training

Ashley has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
