ATIMANGO's Story My passion for data science caused me to fall in love with coding. I love because the following reasons. Data helps us get the answers that we want. As we all know, numbers do not lie. Data helps us easily find solutions to problems for example using linear regression to find the relationship between two or more variables. Data helps us make better informed decisions and it improves on the quality of our lives. This can be through helping us in making predictions about the future in this way, we are prepared for any disaster. Data serves as evidence for our argument and helps keep track of all the information we need in every step of the way. I did Bachelor of Science in quantitative economics which expounded my knowledge in mathematics, statistics and economics. Secondly, YouTube had been a very good source for me to learn some coding. I learnt HTML, CSS and python from YouTube and I believe Shecodes is the golden opportunity for me to finally get the learning I deserve.

I am passionate about so many things like research. The greatest of all is solving problems using the latest technologies artificial intelligence; machine learning and deep learning. I am fascinated by how technology simplifies work and I purpose to use this desire to transform Uganda, its people and economy. The urge to create digital solutions using already available data is what has motivated me to apply for the Shecodes. Shecodes has a proven track record all over the world and I believe it is the place for me to be. After learning how to work with big data; cleaning, analysis and visualization. I wish to work on building algorithms and mathematical models that enables machines to learn from the stored data, recognize patterns, make decisions and predictions and perform complex tasks without human intervention. I am looking forward to working as a data scientist with one of the biggest tech companies in the world and later on start up an IT company that trains other new data scientists and provides all IT solutions in my community. I strongly believe this is a very good impact not only in my career and life, but also my economy.

ATIMANGO has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
