Bertha Bibiana's Story When I was in high school, 15 years old. In my country you can go and have a technical degree in high school and I went with IT. Later on, I tried different things but ended up majoring in computer science (Systems engineer) but focused more on project management since coding was NOT my fortè, but I always wanted to learn how to join that wonderful world.

🙋‍♀️ Bertha Bibiana's Motivation

I’m already a systems engineer but always had trouble coding and always admired those who can do it. Perhaps I just lack the proper knowledge or didn’t know how to learn the right way, so I’m always seeking ways to improve that. I often feel embarrassed for not knowing how to code, but with ADHD and anxiety it has become really hard, but I’m settled in learning somehow and believe that this is a great opportunity to face a fear of mine (failure).

🤹‍♀️ Bertha Bibiana's Hobbies

I like to crochet and watch serie, movies or YouTube videos while doing so. Also spending time with my newly adopted cat.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
