Cherish's Story My interest stems from my favourite high school subject Computer Applications and Technology. Being able to take this subject sparked a lot of curiosity in me which led me to further my studies in Information Technology. It allows me to build solutions, solve problems, and engage with a computer and users in many ways. The possibilities are endless and always evolving, which keeps things exciting.

🙋‍♀️ Cherish's Motivation

SheCodes offers a platform that empowers women and makes coding accessible to everyone. I find it inspiring to support such an initiative. Coding opens up so many opportunities for creativity and problem-solving, and being part of a community that's working to bridge the gender gap in tech is truly motivating. As a Student Representative Council member and an IT student, I constantly see the opportunity for the development of a small website or app that would do a lot of good for the council and my peers on my campus. Improving and gaining new skills will not only enable me to bring these ideas and visions to life, but it will also be a major benefit when I enter the working world!

🤹‍♀️ Cherish's Hobbies

I enjoy crocheting, roller skating, baking and reading webcomics

🎯

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
