Christine's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how much technology influences our daily lives—and how powerful it can be to actually understand and create it. My curiosity started with a desire to automate simple tasks and understand how the websites, apps, and tools I use every day actually work under the surface. I remember being fascinated the first time I saw how a few lines of code could create something interactive or solve a problem. What really drew me in was the problem-solving aspect. Coding felt like learning a new language—one that allowed me to express logic and creativity at the same time. I started exploring tutorials, building small scripts, and experimenting with basic projects. Every step gave me a sense of accomplishment and opened up new possibilities. That initial curiosity turned into a genuine passion, and now I see coding not just as a technical skill, but as a form of empowerment—something that can help me bring ideas to life and keep growing in a tech-driven world.

🙋‍♀️ Christine's Motivation

My motivation to learn how to code stems from a desire to become more self-sufficient in problem-solving and to expand my ability to create and innovate in the digital world. As technology continues to shape every aspect of modern life, I believe coding is a fundamental skill that enables individuals to not only understand how systems work but also to actively build solutions that can make a meaningful impact. I’m particularly drawn to the logical and creative aspects of coding. It challenges me to think critically, break down complex problems, and find efficient ways to solve them. At the same time, it provides a canvas for creativity—whether it’s designing a clean, functional app or automating repetitive tasks. Additionally, I see coding as a way to future-proof my career and stay adaptable in a rapidly evolving job market. Whether I apply these skills to build tools for my own projects or collaborate with others on larger systems, I want to be someone who can contribute both ideas and execution. Ultimately, learning to code empowers me to bring ideas to life, understand the digital tools I rely on daily, and stay ahead in an increasingly tech driven world .

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
