Debora's Story i grew and went to school in a fairly remote village in Kenya.I enjoyed watching science fiction movies and that's how i developed an interests in technology especially computers. I thought that if half of what i watch would be real then it will be very easy to find solutions to various challenges we encounter in life generally. However I didn't pursue a career in a field related to computer because of my passion for teaching .I have come to realize that technology can play a big role in education and it would be very efficient.

🙋‍♀️ Debora's Motivation

I have always been fascinated by computers and technology because it offers a lot of assistance in the work place,at home and almost in every area of life .As a woman in Africa I am motivated to learn coding to develop programs that are familiar to the needs of the African communities. For instance,I am a teacher ,teaching learners living with special needs ,being able to develop programs that assist them would be a big step in bridging the gap between typical and atypical learners.I am driven by the desire to provide solutions to problems that relate to us,Africans closely.

🤹‍♀️ Debora's Hobbies

I like playing badminton and volleyball.i love reading and watching science fiction and documentaries.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
