effie's Story When i was in high school, my physics teacher once suggested i take up IT after high school. He said i could make a great fit as he had seen my capabilities in the computer classes as well. I took up a diploma in ICT and fell in love with the field. I got introduced to networks, infrastructure and above else, programming. I have gained working knowledge of some languages like HTML, CSS,PHP,Javascript and would like to delve further into languages like Python, Java and C just to name a few.

I was referred by a friend who is a developer as well. She has seen me struggle with finding a job even after getting my diploma in ICT. I have realized that i lack the technical capabilities required by employers to secure work as a fullstack developer. I believe that SheCodes can help me achieve my dream as well as secure employment which has proved difficult for two years.

Learning is my thing. I like to do certfificates and new courses where i can and all on various subjects like leadership, communication, personal finances.

effie has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
