Elnaz's Story During my Master’s program, I had to work on some projects. I did the project with MATLAB and I developed a program for doing Power Flow analysis. That was a beginning for me and I realized I like to focus on finding a way to solve problems that have computational burden and they are almost impossible to be solved by hand. In addition, I have started to learn about PYTHON through free materials. But I believe I need a professional course in order not to get confused in this journey. Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to pay the tuitions.

🙋‍♀️ Elnaz's Motivation

I have a master’s degree in power system engineering from a well-known university in Iran. However, because of some discriminations in Iran toward females job seekers in this industry here, I couldn’t find a proper job related to my major. I am trying to learn coding online because I am sure there will be a lot of opportunities in future for me. I will be able to work remotely for even foreign countries. The most important thing for me is living up to my whole potential and be an independent woman. Working as a programmer can bring me to this goal because it is not limited to only being hired by some few governmental companies where they avoid hiring female workers.

🤹‍♀️ Elnaz's Hobbies

My main hobbies are reading books and hiking around my city in Sanandaj, which is called Abidar. I believe reading books can enlighten us toward a better life. The last book that I read was “Educated” by Tara Westower. It was really an inspiring story. I also dance Kurdish and Azerbaijani folk professionally.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
