Fathima's Story I first became interested in coding through my growing interest in technology, online education, and digital creativity. As a teacher, I have always enjoyed finding new ways to make learning more interactive and engaging. Over time, I became curious about how websites, online platforms, educational applications, and digital tools are actually created. My interest grew even more as I started exploring online teaching, building ideas for my own educational platform, creating digital resources, and developing online business projects. I found myself wondering how I could move beyond simply using technology and actually learn how to create with it. I realised that coding could give me the skills to turn my ideas into something real. Instead of only using existing websites and applications, I would love to understand what happens behind the scenes and eventually build my own. I am especially excited about learning coding because it combines creativity, problem-solving, and technology. I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself, and coding feels like an exciting new skill that could open many doors for me personally and professionally. SheCodes caught my attention because it makes coding feel accessible and achievable, even for someone who is starting from the beginning.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes comes from my desire to expand my skills, become more independent, and create new opportunities for myself. I have always been passionate about education, creativity, technology, and helping others, and I believe coding will allow me to bring these interests together in meaningful ways. As an experienced teacher, I have seen how technology can transform learning and make education more engaging and accessible. I want to understand how websites, applications, and digital tools are created so that I can eventually develop my own educational resources and online learning platforms. I am also interested in entrepreneurship and building digital businesses. Learning to code would give me the confidence and practical skills to create and manage my own websites, online teaching tools, educational resources, and digital products rather than relying entirely on others. What excites me most about SheCodes is the opportunity to learn in a supportive and practical environment. I am eager to challenge myself, learn something completely new, and prove that it is never too late to develop a new skill. I hope coding will open doors to new career opportunities, strengthen my digital skills, and allow me to turn my creative ideas into reality. I am motivated, curious, and ready to learn.

In my free time, I enjoy being creative and exploring new ideas. I love designing digital content, creating educational resources, and working on creative projects. I also enjoy photography, travelling, discovering different cultures, and spending quality time with my family. I have a strong interest in technology and enjoy learning about new digital tools, online platforms, and ways to turn creative ideas into useful projects. I also love reading, watching movies and K-dramas, and finding inspiration through art, nature, and beautiful designs. Another hobby I really enjoy is crafting and creating personalised items. I like working with colours, flowers, typography, and different design styles. I find creative activities relaxing and rewarding because they allow me to express myself. I also enjoy teaching and creating fun learning activities, especially for children. For me, teaching is more than a career—it is something I genuinely enjoy. Overall, I love activities that allow me to learn, create, connect with people, and try something new. I am naturally curious, so I am always looking for opportunities to develop new skills and turn my ideas into something meaningful.

Fathima's coding training

Fathima has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
