Getrude's Story My interest in coding began when I realised how much of an impact technology has on our daily lives. It began with a tiny project: creating a basic website for a buddy. I was astounded at my ability to visualise concepts on a computer as I dove into HTML and CSS. I realised I wanted to learn more about coding when I could construct anything from scratch with just a few lines of code, which was an exciting feeling.

I like a variety of artistic and physical pastimes. I enjoy reading in my free time, especially books on sociolinguistics and psychology because they open my eyes to new ideas about language and human behaviour. Hiking and other outdoor pursuits are things I like to do to unwind and maintain a connection with the natural world. I also love picking up new skills like design and computing because they provide me more avenues to show my ideas.

Getrude's coding training

Getrude has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
