Gopika's Story My interest in coding began early during my studies in Computer Science at IIT Mandi. I was initially drawn to technology through my curiosity about how devices and systems interact. In the first year, I found myself fascinated by the endless possibilities that coding offered in solving problems. From automating simple tasks to creating software that could make an impact, I realized that coding was the key to unlocking innovation. My hands-on experience in the Robotronics Club, where I worked on designing a wall-climbing robot, and my exploration of cloud technologies, only deepened my passion for coding. I realized that coding wasn’t just about writing lines of instructions; it was about creating solutions that could improve lives and even change industries. As I continue to work on more advanced projects, including building an intelligent inventory management system, I’ve seen firsthand how coding is the backbone of almost every breakthrough in technology. My journey in coding has been a blend of challenges and excitement, pushing me to continually learn, adapt, and grow.

From the moment I started my B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Mandi, I was fascinated by the power of technology to create real-world impact. Over time, I explored various domains, from cloud computing to robotics, and even worked on projects like implementing haptic feedback for fighter gloves. However, as I delved deeper into the field, I realized that structured learning and hands-on experience are crucial to mastering coding. SheCodes presents the perfect opportunity for me to refine my coding skills in a supportive environment. As someone who has been actively involved in technical clubs like the Robotronics Club and Google Developer Group, I believe that learning from SheCodes will not only enhance my abilities but also enable me to mentor and inspire others, especially women in tech. Moreover, I aspire to secure internships at leading tech companies, and I know that strong coding fundamentals are key. By joining SheCodes, I hope to bridge my knowledge gaps, improve my problem-solving skills, and gain the confidence to tackle real-world challenges. My motivation is not just to learn but to leverage this opportunity to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful difference in the tech industry.

Some of my hobbies include being actively involved in clubs like UhlLekh, the writing club, TSOD, the Society of Debaters, and the Designing Club. These clubs allow me to engage in activities that nurture my creativity and communication skills. I’m especially passionate about storytelling, which I express both through writing and debates. As a writer and poet, I enjoy crafting narratives that evoke emotions and provoke thought. These hobbies give me the opportunity to explore new ideas, develop my skills, and connect with others who share similar interests.

Gopika's coding training

Gopika has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
