Hajar's Story My dad has always been a programmer so I have always been exposed to coding. Before I entered university, I joined a lot of coding competitions and even won some of them. My newfound interest in coding is because I discovered a curiosity for designing websites and mobile applications through my current job.

🙋‍♀️ Hajar's Motivation

Despite previous experience with coding, I held back on learning more about it for a long time because I always thought you had to be good at math or really detail oriented, both of which were skills I felt that I lacked. But I've now realized a lot of those limits were self-imposed and I want to see what I can achieve once I apply myself. I really want to explore my capabilities and hopefully upskill myself into a job where I can earn more and provide financial stability for my parents and my family.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
