Iyona's Story At first, I thought it was just something for hardcore programmers, but when I took my first Information Systems course, I realized how much it ties into everything from business to everyday life. What got me hooked was seeing how a few lines of code could make something work, I love problem-solving, and coding feels like a puzzle that challenges me in a fun way. Now, I want to take it further and build things independently.

🙋‍♀️ Iyona's Motivation

I want to learn how to code because I see it as a skill that opens so many doors, especially in the tech industry. Since I’m studying Information Systems and Economics, I feel like coding will give me an edge and help me work on real-world solutions that combine business and technology. Plus, I love the idea of being able to build something from scratch whether it’s an app, a website or even just automating tasks. Having coding skills will also give me more career flexibility, which is really important to me.

🤹‍♀️ Iyona's Hobbies

I prioritize the gym, so I work out a lot. essentially I love reading and I am part of the house committee at university, so I spend most of my time entertaining. I do pageants and I love spending time binge-watching my favourite series

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
