Jane Gugu's Story I first became interested in coding during the 1st year of my university studies. I had a problem with understanding computer and my roomate was studying computer engineering. I would look at her as she codes and became interested to learn and understand the language of coding.

My motivation to learn how to code stems from a desire to solve problems and create solutions that can make a tangible impact. Coding opens up opportunities to build and innovate in ways that can transform ideas into real-world applications. It excites me to think about how coding skills can be applied to develop new technologies, streamline processes, and enhance user experiences. Additionally, coding offers the challenge of continuous learning and improvement. The ever-evolving nature of technology drives me to stay curious and engaged, always pushing the boundaries of what I can achieve. By learning to code, I aim to gain the ability to bring my ideas to life, contribute to exciting projects, and be part of a community that is shaping the future through technology.

Jane Gugu has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
