Jane's Story My interest in coding began with a strong desire to understand how digital tools and platforms function behind the scenes. As I engaged more with technology in my daily and professional life, I became increasingly curious about the logic and structure that powers the systems we rely on. This curiosity led me to explore basic web development through self-paced tutorials, and I was immediately captivated by the problem-solving and creative aspects of coding. What drew me in was the potential to not only use technology, but to shape it. I saw coding as a valuable skill that could help me streamline processes, build solutions, and contribute meaningfully to the digital transformation happening across all industries. As I delved deeper, I realized how versatile and empowering it is, it equips you to think analytically, solve problems efficiently, and create tangible results from abstract ideas. Since then, I’ve made a conscious decision to pursue coding more seriously, especially through structured programs like SheCodes, which support and mentor women entering the tech space. My goal is to leverage these skills to innovate, collaborate on impactful projects, and grow within the tech industry in a way that aligns with both my personal and professional aspirations.

🙋‍♀️ Jane's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes comes from a strong desire to challenge myself, grow professionally, and gain the skills necessary to thrive in a digital world. I’ve always been fascinated by how websites, apps, and systems work behind the scenes, and I believe that coding is the key to unlocking that knowledge and creativity. SheCodes stood out to me because it offers a welcoming and inclusive environment, especially for women who may not have had access to tech education before. The structure of the workshops, the hands-on learning approach, and the encouragement from a global community are all reasons I’m excited to be part of this journey. I want to learn how to create useful, innovative digital tools that can solve real-world problems—whether it’s in healthcare, education, business, or community development. Coding gives me the power to not just use technology, but to build it. That’s incredibly empowering. More than anything, I see this as an investment in myself and my future. With SheCodes, I’m not just learning to code, I’m building the confidence to take on new challenges, explore a growing industry, and help close the gender gap in tech.

🤹‍♀️ Jane's Hobbies

I enjoy reading, journaling, and exploring new tech tools. I love spending time outdoors, going for walks, and connecting with friends over good food or fun conversations. I also find learning new digital skills exciting, it’s both fun and fulfilling to build and create something from scratch.
