Janefer's Story Tech is one of the important skills one should posses today as technology is no longer the future but a necessity in our day to day life. Technology today is almost used everywhere by almost everybody if not everyone. The COVID 19 pandemic made me appreciate Technology as I could no longer go to the University physically. I did my KCSE examinations in 2019 and was selected to join University of Nairobi to do a degree in Commerce. Since the pandemic had led to closure of the academic institutions, we registered online and started having our classes online using Zoom and Microsoft teams meetings. This fascinated me and I started developing a vast interest in learning how technology works and how to use it to solve our daily problems.Conding especially can equip one with analytical and quantitative data which can help collect vital information that can be used in major decision making. Also one can use it to solve giga problem by just commanding an instruction in a computer. My Goal is to aquire as much information as possible in regards to coding which will help me with greater computational thinking capacity and use it to solve major problems in our society of Kenya.

Coding is no longer the future but the present as it is one of the skills one is required to have today inorder to carry out most of the tasks.As an African lady I have grown up with the desire to help my society by solving problems that are facing us as a continent. I have grown up in Laikipia County where I have witnessed girls not being given an opportunity to explore their dreams in terms of Education or talents. Most of them end up being married off at a younger age even before they are mature enough to make discreet decisions. Others get pregnant at younger ages by lack of role models in life and they end up suffering in the rural slums. She codes intiative is giving me an opportunity to study coding . This will equip me with analytical and vital technological skills that will help me in problem solving using the recent tech. With Coding skills I will be able to collect stastical data fast and this information will be relevant to determine the measures to undertake. I Will also be able to expand my intellectual capacity and add more skills to my resume which will increase my employability chance.

-Reading inspirational books on leadership and Christianity. - Traveling and adventuring new places and also to appreciate nature and the wonderful creation. - Networking with like minded people who motivates me to do great things.
