Karabo's Story I first became interested in coding when I attended a career expo and saw the different things that can be done with coding. There were video games and apps that were created by the exhibitors on exhibition. As a person who enjoys creating things I found that very interesting and that sparked a desire in me to pursue a career in tech.

🙋‍♀️ Karabo's Motivation

I have a passion for creating things and would like to pivot into the tech industry. I also believe that coding is an essential skill to learn, ever since I became aware of coding and the various things that can be done with it, my desire to learn has grown even more. Through research, I have discovered that coding can be used for more than just developing apps but can be used to solve problems in everyday life which is what I would like to do.

🤹‍♀️ Karabo's Hobbies

I like reading, hiking, doing arts and craft projects as well as fixing things. I find it empowering especially as a female to be able to do things that would be considered to be more for men such as DIY projects at home, I also enjoy volunteering at church.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
