Kateryna's Story Since childhood Maths and numbers in general seemed exceptionally interesting to me (which helped me develop logical thinking skills). My family encouraged me to learn and try many different things. When I was at school, I already knew that some kind of coding interests me, because I had an informatics lesson where we did some basic programming using Scratch and similar simple things. That was the time when I understood that coding may be interesting to me in the future. When I got older, I decided to perceive a career in IT field. In order to do that, I started learning from free resources available on the internet, and after finishing school I got into a university majoring in computer science. I passed the exams really well and managed to enter Taras Shevchenko national university of Kyiv, which is a top university in Ukraine, having my tuition fee payed by the government.

🙋‍♀️ Kateryna's Motivation

I am only 17 years old, I am creative, full of energy and motivation to learn new things, especially the ones that interest me and are constantly changing and developing. Coding is definitely one of them. It has many perspectives, because everything in the world is being digitalised more and more. Artificial intelligence is our future, since almost everything will be automated. In order for that to happen the world and devices would require a huge amount of different software. I would really want to be a part of that big change in the world, so my goal is to get new skills and improve the ones I already have to start my career in coding as soon as possible.

🤹‍♀️ Kateryna's Hobbies

There is a stereotype that people, who like Maths and coding, are nerdy and boring, but this is not true at all. I am very creative and I have many different hobbies, which are not connected to programming. I really enjoy learning English. I have been learning it for 10 years now and the process hasn't become any less interesting for me. Also I am a huge fan of makeup. I could sit and do someone's makeup for hours and get plenty of satisfaction from making people feel pretty. Apart from that, I really like doing sports, acrobatics to be precise. I am not a professional, but I still enjoy it a lot. I also love everything connected to performing on stage like theatre, acting, singing.
