Lauryn's Story My fascination with coding traces back to a pivotal moment in my life during the last two years of high school when I was introduced to the world of robotics. This experience birthed a profound love for technology and opened my eyes to the awe-inspiring potential of coding. It wasn't just about programming robots; it was the realization that I could create solutions to real-world problems, using lines of code as my toolkit. As I delved deeper into robotics, I was captivated by the sheer creativity and innovation that coding offered. I am driven to learn how to code with SHE Codes because I find myself at a pivotal stage in my life where I yearn to acquire the skills to code effectively. My motivation is twofold: first, it's a personal challenge I've set for myself, a way to prove that I can master a skill that has long intrigued me. Second, I am deeply committed to inspiring and showing my community that they too can embrace the world of coding. I believe in the power of representation and want to be a beacon of change, especially for women in tech. The world needs more diverse voices in the tech industry, and I am determined to be a part of that change. SheCodes offers a unique platform, designed to empower women and create a ripple effect of impact. I see it as the perfect avenue to learn and grow, surrounded by a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Together, we can challenge stereotypes and demonstrate that women can excel in the world of coding. It is not just about acquiring a skill; it's about making a difference, breaking barriers, and fostering a more inclusive tech landscape.

I have a variety of hobbies that keep me engaged. I enjoy debating, where I hone my communication and critical thinking skills. Cooking is another passion, especially when I can prepare meals for friends and family, sharing moments of togetherness. Long walks in nature also bring me joy, providing relaxation and clarity.

Lauryn's coding training

Lauryn has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
