Lerato 's Story I became interested in coding when I learned that my current career industry was not exactly something which I necessarily enjoy nor will it allow me to grow as much as I would like to grow, and coding is more of a better fit for me as it not only allows me room for creativity; but it also opens up many doors of opportunity in the world of work, and also creates opportunity for me to achieve financial freedom.

🙋‍♀️ Lerato 's Motivation

My motivation for learning code is to improve my skills so that I can transition into an industry that allows me more flexibility as I would like to invest in other areas of my life like family. I currently work in a rigid and stressful industry which also affects how I am able to enjoy life. SheCodes would help me to achieve this as it a foundation for young women like me.

🤹‍♀️ Lerato 's Hobbies

I enjoy doing some creative writing, songwriting, singing, and creative painting.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
