Lihle's Story My interest in coding began when I assisted my younger sister with a coding project she had for school. This experience intrigued me because it was something entirely new and different from what I had encountered during my own high school years. As I helped her navigate through the project, I discovered the fascinating world of programming and technology. Subsequently, I began working in a position that involved providing technical support, which further fueled my interest in technology. As part of this role, I attended various training sessions where I learned more about the inner workings of software and systems. Each training session deepened my understanding and passion for technology, reinforcing my desire to explore the background workings of software and coding. This journey has been driven by a genuine curiosity and a growing appreciation for the transformative impact of technology in our lives.

🙋‍♀️ Lihle's Motivation

I've always been fascinated by the inner workings of technology, especially the backend processes, but I struggled to see how I could turn this interest into a career. My journey into software engineering and coding began with self-teaching, delving deep into tutorials and resources, but I quickly found myself overwhelmed by the complexity. It was during this time that I came across a social media post that resonated deeply with me.I realized that formal education and mentorship were exactly what I needed to progress. What drew me even closer to this path was SheCodes mission to bridge the gender gap in tech and empower women in Africa to access better opportunities in the tech industry. As a mother raising a daughter, this mission aligned perfectly with my personal values. I want to show my daughter that nothing should limit her aspirations, regardless of gender or nationality. This journey with She2Codes not only promises to develop my skills but also enables me to contribute to a more inclusive and supportive tech community for women worldwide.

🤹‍♀️ Lihle's Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy reading African folklore and fiction, which lets me dive into captivating stories and cultural narratives. Skincare is another interest of mine—I love trying out new products and routines to take care of my skin. I also keep up with tech news, especially in artificial intelligence and robotics. It's fascinating to see how these technologies are shaping our daily lives, including how they're influencing the beauty industry. Outside of that, I cherish spending time with my toddler and cooking up tasty meals. These activities bring me joy and balance in my life.
