Lusanda's Story I always had an interest in how websites were built, first through WordPress and blogging and I was fascinated when I came across programming and understanding how one can take an idea and execute that idea into something visible through machine code. At first I thought that was only for Computer science graduates and to get into the industry one would need to be one but I later discovered this was not the case and one can learn to code through institutions like SheCodes. I was naturally drawn to websites and web applications, my interests still remain on the web development side.

🙋‍♀️ Lusanda's Motivation

I am looking to go into the software development industry and have noted the importance of not only education but also a mentor/guidance on how I could build my portfolio and get hired as a software developer. My reason for wanting to learn to code with SheCodes is to create a better future and career which will enable me to provide a better life for my family. Furthermore, as a woman aspiring to go into this male-dominated industry I choose SheCodes as I would want to belong to a network of women who I look up to and learn alongside them.

🤹‍♀️ Lusanda's Hobbies

I like learning& reading, being creative and going out to markets, traveling, and getting experiences.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
