Mandisa's Story I have always been scared of coding because I do not have a tech background and it always seemed like a skill reserved for smart people only. I took it upon myself to challenge myself and do some research on coding where I discovered the different career paths of offers. I fell in love with web development which appeals to my creative side and I’ve been interested in coding ever since

I am passionate about the empowerment of women. As a young, black woman raised by a single mother in a village, I feel it is my duty to empower myself first so I can empower those who come after me and what better way to empower myself than to learn an in demand skill such as coding.

I love yoga, weight lifting, reading, dancing, cooking and spending time in nature

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
