Maria's Story When I finished school there were two possible options IT and psychology. I choose the second one because it was more convenient at the time, but after a year I started looking into coding, where I could use my logical, analytical, and mathematical abilities. These last five years I tried to start learning IT a lot of times but it was really hard to stick to it as I had a lot on my plate with work and studying. These days by the most unfortunate circumstances I have plenty of time on my hands and I am just in the right state of mind to use it right.

Women are strongly discriminated in the IT world and are not given equal chances to not only start but to succeed and learn. For me starting is the most difficult part and the hardest step. So having a platform where it is not only possible but also easier is motivating and exciting. Right now my strongest motivation is being able to provide for myself in the most difficult situation in my life by learning something I am sure I will be good at. And not face some of the difficulties I stumbled upon before when trying to make the first steps in IT. Also finally have a group that I can relate to and the support I can grow from.

Maria's coding training

Maria has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
