Maria's Story I've always been interested in learning coding, however, I've always thought that I can never learn it, that it's too hard and "only for men". I used to work in an IT company as an Account Manager and was always interested in our Development department hoping that I would be able to became their first-grade colleague as well.

🙋‍♀️ Maria's Motivation

In my University, were I studied Marketing, our professor told us that women can never compete with men in any technical stuff. I want to show them otherwise. Also, one of my best friends is a coder and I've always found it magnificent. It's something I never did but was always interested in. I guess I was always scared to try it myself. But I'm ready for a challenge and I'm sure that I can achieve great results.

🤹‍♀️ Maria's Hobbies

I love traveling, spending time with my friends, playing with my dog and playing video games. Also, fun fact, Sudoku was my favourite game when I was young. My grandma introduced me to it.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
