Mariana's Story My first interest in coding appeared several years ago while I was working as a Marketing Manager at Ukrainian company. One of my responsibility areas at work was to coordinate the contractor’s team who was developing the website and the app for our brand. I can’t find the words to explain how amazed and inspired I was by the work of developers, who turned the vision from my brief into the great functioning tools, which were really helpful for the business! I understood that I definitely want to learn this sphere, too. Since that moment my interest in coding has evolved into a real passion and I promised myself that learning to code will be one of top priorities in my personal future career development plan. So I was always enthusiastic to take new tasks related to the IT sphere at work :) Earlier I perceived coding like a special kind of magic - something, that only special people can perform! But now I understand that it is about specific set of skills and knowledge which every highly motivated person can learn, and I am eager to master this sphere!

🙋‍♀️ Mariana's Motivation

My specialization and entire professional experience has been connected to Consumer & Market Research and Brand Marketing. As my work requires regular trend-watching in different spheres, I clearly understand that technology development came to the point when it influences almost every second of 21-century life. The more I've realized that - the more I wanted to be able to learn how to code! My aim and ambition for this year is to make a career switch to IT Product Management and I am sure that coding skills are essential for me to get this new career opportunity, to be able to speak with developers on the same language. Moreover, my biggest dream for the future is to gain knowledge & experience and to establish an IT company in Ukraine, as I want to make personal impact on country development and innovation. Majority of IT products are made for people. So I believe that with my marketing superpower to understand the consumer needs and with technical coding skills which I will gain at SheCodes course, I will be able to create really great consumer-centric IT products and to make a great impact for the society!

🤹‍♀️ Mariana's Hobbies

My biggest hobbies are reading detectives and playing intellectual board games, as I am a curious person and really like to solve mysteries. Also, I like traveling and investigating new places & cultures. I am fond of cooking and trying dishes from different cuisines. As for the sports activities, I really admire bicycling with my friends or with my cousins. Moreover, I believe that soon the hobbies list will be replenished by one more activity – learning how to code :)
