Mary Anne's Story I was excepted to study Computer science but decided to take the medical analytical route rather. Just watched Matts Intro Video and I am shocked by the low number of female coders. I guess its because we value family above our career and sometimes forget about our dreams.

🙋‍♀️ Mary Anne's Motivation

In the last few years data and its analysis became a hot topic again. Pre covid I did a short course in data analysis through and am constantly learning bits here and there as my time, job and family responsibilities allow. I did a bit of Python, excel, tableau, SQL on my own. A structured approach and support such as shecodes can help me a lot at achieving one of my initial goals of the computer science bug never really letting go. I believe in the saying that in life one is exactly where we are suppose to be. It is never too late. With the experience I have in life and my current job I can apply and enhance my career.

🤹‍♀️ Mary Anne's Hobbies

Family time is very important. I watch a bit of sports. I do some painting every now and then.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
