Mary's Story I first became interested in coding when I read an article about Ginni Rometty and how she transformed IBM from traditional hardware and software to focus on cloud computing, AI, and data analytics. Her journey influenced me to pursue a career in tech, as I want to enhance my creativity and build applications that can help people in meaningful ways.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is that it empowers women in developing countries to learn coding and enter the tech field. This will help me build essential tech skills, opening up new career opportunities and advancing my future in the industry. For women in developing nations, the SheCodes Foundation offers free resources, which motivates me to put in more effort and work towards improving my family's quality of life.

My hobbies include reading, particularly books by William Gibson, watching anime and cartoons that explore themes of technology and innovation, such as Dr stone ,code Lyoko and land learning new things online related to tech. I also enjoy reading anime mangas, webtoons, and historical novels. These activities not only provide entertainment but also inspire my creativity and curiosity.

Mary's coding training

Mary has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
