Mpho's Story I have heard a person talk about Coding and I was amazed by all that she told me but I did not understand a single thing she said so I looked it up on the internet and to be honest, got more confused! I saw numbers and letters, decided that I was not advanced to do or even understand coding. Until I saw this opportunity and wow- I thought that this was my chance to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to.

🙋‍♀️ Mpho's Motivation

Growing up, I was rarely exposed to technology including a cell phone. I would hardly see anyone around me use gadgets so when I saw a computer or laptop, I would really be intrigued. I always hoped to know how to use one or better yet, own one. I recently learnt the basic skills of using a computer, I would like to go deeper into tech related skills hence the motivation to learn how to Code.

I don't know if it counts as a hobby because of the way I prioritize it, I love working out. It does so much for me more than just being fit. If I am not doing that, I am reading a book or cooking up a storm.

Mpho's coding training

Mpho has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
