Mykhalya's Story I am passionate about the arts & technology and have dedicated my career to join the two. When I was 12, I stumbled across a game called neopets that allowed us to make webpages. I soon became obsessed with using this platform to create unique designs in GIMP and bring them to life with HTML & CSS. High schools in my country place higher importance on studying the sciences, and I fell into the trap of pursuing biology with computer science on the side. In college, I transitioned to marketing technology and have since connected with the young girl who was passionate about coding her webpages.

🙋‍♀️ Mykhalya's Motivation

As a visual communicator, I want to bring designs and solutions to life. Learning to code also opens opportunities I wouldn't have thought possible as a marketing specialist working in the Caribbean. SheCodes is the only program I've seen so far with a mission based on accessibility and affordability that I truly stand behind.

🤹‍♀️ Mykhalya's Hobbies

I love mobile gaming, studying Japanese, films and kdramas. I also love random beach or river trips on the weekends (perks of living in the Caribbean)

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
