Naledi Angela's Story My interest in coding first sparked when I was introduced to the world of technology when I enrolled in BIS Information Science at the University of Pretoria. I was fascinated by how software applications were transforming every aspect of our lives, from communication and entertainment to healthcare and education. I realized that behind every innovative application or platform, there was a team of coders who had brought that idea to life. The more I delved into this world, the more I became intrigued by the power of coding. I started reading about different programming languages, the logic behind algorithms, and the art of problem-solving in programming. The idea of creating something from nothing but lines of code was incredibly appealing to me.However, what truly solidified my decision was when I attempted to automate a repetitive task at school. I spent hours each week manually updating spreadsheets, which I realized could be automated with a simple script. With some online tutorials and a lot of determination, I managed to write my first piece of code. The sense of accomplishment I felt when the script successfully ran was indescribable. This experience made me realize that coding is not just about creating software applications, but it's also about improving efficiency, solving problems, and making life easier. It was at this moment that I decided to dedicate myself to learning coding.
