Nancy's Story I first became interested in coding through a close friend who is a powerhouse in the tech space. She explained how coding works and how mastering its principles can protect lives and safeguard valuable digital assets. Her passion inspired me, and I began researching coding—particularly how its knowledge supports cybersecurity, software development, and personal digital safety. That introduction opened my eyes to how much impact one can make through tech, and it motivated me to start my own journey.

🙋‍♀️ Nancy's Motivation

I had always wanted to be a part of the tech community. I am proficient in customer service and I really aimed at building my focus in IT support to get a better understanding of information technology in relation to customer support and expertise in the digital environment. Later, since I couldn't afford the amount stipulated to get the skill I relented till I was duped twice. After the incidences , I met a friend who stated she's into cybersecurity and it's an aspect of tech. She gave me information about it and I had a switch solely becaus from the pain of losing money and my Information to fraudsters because, I couldn't use my Sim card anymore nor could I regain all the money lost. The loss I incurred sparked a determination within me to take control of my tech journey. Upon discovering Shecodes, a platform offering free tech training and experience to women, I saw an opportunity to reignite my passion and pursue my goals. I am eager to leverage this opportunity to gain experience, build my skills, and contribute to the tech community. It was enlightening and it brought hope which was why I decided to jump right into it.

🤹‍♀️ Nancy's Hobbies

I love researching. I presently am growing a substack account focused on the research I make about technologies, particularly in the aspect of cyber security. I enjoy speaking and attending to people's needs when I have the opportunity to. I love to serve. But I live in a local area in Ogun state where information is barely or never gotten so it's difficult to navigate volunteer gigs based on distance and resources. But I serve in the choir dept and IT in church and I give it my all

Nancy's coding training

Nancy has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
