Nelly Maropeng's Story I heard about coding from many people time and time again, mostly on my phone. So my interest grew by the day and I began my research. Coding is a way of puzzling into todays world. It's so interesting as well that one is capable of giving instruction to a computer for it to read through them and follow through.

🙋‍♀️ Nelly Maropeng's Motivation

I am a single Mother of three and I have always wanted to improve my job skills especially in the Software Engineering Industry. I would love part of and to even initiate the 5th industrial revolution. I would love to sway into todays ways of doing and going about things and coding is one way to do it. I would love to increase my range of skills by coding and create and pertain a website or an app to my name. SheCodes will help me break through stereotypes. Many beings have looked down on me and even tried to stop me because I'm simply a female. Its time to break the wall and do what my heart desires, and that is to code.

🤹‍♀️ Nelly Maropeng's Hobbies

Cooking, studying, reading, jogging and playing scrabble.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
