Nina's Story “I first became interested in coding when I started using social media to promote my small business. I saw how important it was to have a good online presence, and I realized people who could create websites or design digital content had more opportunities to earn from home. I began to wonder how those sites and graphics were made, and that curiosity led me to SheCodes. As someone who wants to rebuild my life and support my children, I saw coding as a way to gain skills that could open doors—especially to remote work I can do from home.”

“As a single mother of three, I’m looking for flexible, stable income opportunities that allow me to work from home and still care for my children. I’ve struggled financially since losing my business, and learning to code through SheCodes gives me hope. I want to gain digital skills to eventually offer services like website design, social media content creation, or even launch my own online shop. I’m highly motivated to learn because I know this could change my family’s future. I’ve already shown resilience by trying different small businesses, and I believe learning to code will give me the freedom to grow, earn, and help other women like me in the future.”

Some of my hobbies include: • Creating skincare and beauty products using natural ingredients • Listening to gospel music and motivational messages (like Pastor Jerry Eze) • Spending quality time with my kids—playing, reading, and helping them with schoolwork • Learning new things online, especially about business, design, and now coding • Designing flyers or editing simple pictures on my phone (using Canva, for example)”

Nina's coding training

Nina has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
