Nokubonga's Story Through a programme at my part-time job, I was first introduced to coding. To be eligible to learn how to code for free, we had to complete an exam, which I passed, and I instantly fell in love with the language. Subsequently, I discovered that enrollment requires not being a university student. Coding is an essential component of my lifelong curiosity in how things operate. The exciting and demanding nature of coding's problem-solving component keeps me interested and inspired to learn more.

🙋‍♀️ Nokubonga's Motivation

Finding a career that I will love working in is what drives me to join. This year has been difficult for me; I'm a university student who was denied funding, therefore I'm not studying right now because I don't have the money. I made the decision to not allow one setback to determine the course of my future, so I looked for suggestions for short, free classes I could complete at home. Ever since I first learned about coding, I've wanted to increase my understanding and provide a better life for my family

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
