Nokulunga's Story My brother learnt how to code and i found that quite inspiring. i’ve always been interested in science and technology but never thought i was smart enough to learn. With seeing posts and videos about coding, i’ve gained an even bigger interest in learning and being a part of the technology space and the opportunities it has/brings.

🙋‍♀️ Nokulunga's Motivation

My motivation is to provide myself with knowledge and skills to better not only my life but my family’s as well. I seek to equip myself with skills and knowledge that will empower me to not only believe that i have a bright future but to know and see that future. I see the avenues that people can take with coding and it makes me believe that i can be a part of that too. I was raised to be independent and through this programme I believe not only would i get independence but knowledge and access to ways to improve my life in a way where i can improve my financial and education situation. I’ve been unable to return to tertiary for some time now and I was deeply saddened by the realisation that I wouldn’t be able to make something of myself but when this opportunity came, I had to try and my hope was reignited again.

Nokulunga's coding training

Nokulunga has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
