NONHLANHLA's Story first became interested in coding when I saw how powerful technology could be in changing lives. I remember struggling with some everyday tasks and thinking, There has to be a smarter way to do this. That curiosity led me to explore how apps and websites work behind the scenes. Once I started learning the basics, I was hooked—I loved the idea of building something from scratch and solving real problems. I also saw it as a path to better opportunities, especially for someone like me who wants to grow, support my family, and make a meaningful impact.

My motivation for learning how to code with She Code stems from a strong desire to create a better future for myself and my family. I want to gain valuable skills that will open up more career opportunities, increase my financial independence, and allow me to contribute meaningfully in the tech world. I'm also passionate about personal growth, and coding is a powerful tool that challenges me to think critically, solve problems creatively, and continuously learn. Being part of a supportive community like She Code makes this journey even more empowering.

playing puzzles and word crossy games they keep my mind active and help me think critically, which is a great skill for coding. I also enjoy engaging with people and going out, which helps with teamwork and communication, both of which are important in tech environments. Even watching TV sometimes inspires me, especially when I see how technology is used in storytelling or futuristic ideas. And playing netball has taught me discipline, focus, and working as part of a team qualities that definitely come in handy when learning to code."

NONHLANHLA's coding training

NONHLANHLA has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
