Oleksandra's Story A friend of mine is a back-end engineer. He began winning me round to start studying programming, because the perspectives to become a professor were really poor. Finally, I agreed with him and chose front-end developing for studying. I like he idea that you can see re result of your coding. I become interested in programming 5 month ago, but every day studying has begun since the war started.

🙋‍♀️ Oleksandra's Motivation

Now I'm motivated quite enough because of several reasons. Since the war started in Ukraine and my university has been destroyed by russian missile all my plans for future were shattered at once. I supposed to be a PhD professor (now I'm on the 4 year of graduate school), but not any more. Because of damages in the univesity I can't carry out my experiments and finish my thesis. But there are is also another reason why I won't be a professor. My university was united with another one. The staff will be cut on, so I have no chance to get a job. I had to leave my home and my job. Now I live in a small village, at my grandparent's place. I don't know when I will be able to go back home and start working. Thus, I've decided to change my career and become a developer.

🤹‍♀️ Oleksandra's Hobbies

I'm keen on watching films, especially dramas and documentaries. When I have a bit of free time I enjoy reading. I like distopias. But my biggest hobby is volunteering. I have been volunteering for 3 years. Our organisation teaches people how to live zero waste life, why it is important now. We opened two ecohubs in Kharkiv, where people can bring a lot of staff to recycle, give and take clothes to reuse them not to buy new ones. Now we working on educating children and solving humanitarian problems.

Oleksandra's coding training
